Privacy Policy
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Not now, not ever.
Effective date:
KlossWorx builds software for businesses that care about doing things properly, and we hold ourselves to the same standard with your data. This policy explains what we collect when you use klossworx.com, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.
We never sell or share your personal information
This is the part that matters most, so it comes first. KlossWorx does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personally identifying information to third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes. We have never done this and we do not intend to start. There is no version of our business model that involves monetizing your contact details, and we will not transfer your information to a data broker, list vendor, or advertising network. The only circumstances in which your information leaves our hands are the narrow ones described in "Service providers we rely on" and "Legal disclosures" below.
Information you give us
The only information we ask for directly is what you type into our contact form. That form collects:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, which is optional
- The message you write describing what you are building
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, ours collects some technical information automatically when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this to understand which parts of the site are useful and to keep the site working properly. We do not attempt to use this technical data to identify you personally.
How we use your information
We use what we collect for a short and specific list of purposes:
- To reply to your enquiry and have a conversation about your project
- To provide, maintain, and improve the services you have asked us for
- To understand in aggregate how people find and use our site
- To keep our site and systems secure and to prevent abuse of our contact form
- To meet our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel to measure site traffic and to understand which of our marketing efforts bring people here. These tools set cookies and collect usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP address. They are configured to measure site activity, not to build a profile we can trade on. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use Google's opt-out browser add-on, or enable a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal — the site works fine without these tools running, and nothing on it is gated behind accepting them.
Service providers we rely on
Running a website means using a handful of vendors, and some of them necessarily process data on our behalf. These include our hosting and infrastructure provider, our email provider, our analytics providers, and the Google Workspace tools where contact form submissions are recorded. These vendors are permitted to process your information only to deliver their service to us, under their own contractual and legal obligations. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes, and we do not receive payment or any other benefit from giving them access.
Legal disclosures
We may disclose information if we are legally required to — for example, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful request from a government authority — or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of any person. If KlossWorx were ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information could be part of the transferred assets; if that happens, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to answer your enquiry and to maintain a record of our business relationship, and afterwards only for as long as required by our legal and accounting obligations. Automatically collected analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of the analytics tools we use. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
How we protect your information
Our site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, contact form submissions are transmitted server-side rather than exposed to your browser, and access to the systems holding your information is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we build our own systems the way we build our clients' systems, and we take this seriously.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (there is nothing to opt out of, because we do neither), and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA; residents of the EU and UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR. To exercise any of them, email us at the address below and we will respond within the time frame the applicable law requires. We will not charge you for it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children's privacy
Our site and services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to sites we do not operate — a client's product, a tool we recommend, a scheduling page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them. We would encourage you to read their policies before handing over anything personal.
Visitors outside the United States
KlossWorx operates in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored there. If you are visiting from another country, the data protection laws where our servers are located may differ from those where you live. By using the site or contacting us, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be made obvious rather than buried. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy, so it is worth checking back occasionally.
